Tony Robinson and the Team travel to the picturesque expanses of the Suffolk coast to investigate a very special back garden. When the new owners of a house in Blythburgh explored their potting shed they were shocked to discover a cupboard full of human skulls. Could these remains have something to do with what's lurking among the shrubs and trees: the superb ruins of a medieval priory that has lain hidden for years? And, even more extraordinarily, could the old priory be home to the body of a Saxon warrior king killed on the nearby marshes?
Alfred Hitchcock's romantic mystery-thriller stars Cary Grant as John Robie, a former jewel thief who has traded a life of crime for comfortable retirement in the south of France. But, shortly after the beautiful Frances Stevens arrives in Cannes with her mother Jessie, a spate of cat burglaries hits the town - and suspicion quickly falls on Robie. In order to prove his innocence, the reformed Robie must now use all the wiles he once relied on to steal to instead track down and capture the real culprit. However, his new hometown is a renowned hangout for crooks, and everyone he meets seems to be a possible candidate.
In 1939, a visionary aircraft designer called Barnes Wallis had an idea. He would design a very special bomb that would bounce across water and destroy German dams. The science behind the bouncing bomb is highly complex, and many of Barnes Wallis's vital working calculations have been lost. Cambridge engineer Dr Hugh Hunt sets out in an to attempt to solve this scientific puzzle. Starting from scratch, he rediscovers the brilliance of Wallis's achievement when he tries to hit a dam with a bouncing bomb. It is the first time this has been attempted since the war. Hugh is assisted by dam engineers, explosives experts, mechanics and pilots who specialise in low altitude flying. Golfers at a popular East Midlands golf club now know that a huge wooded bank beside their fairway is a rather special area of 'rough'. Time Team's experts discovered that 90 years ago it was a machine gun firing range - and buried in the bank are tens of thousands of spent bullets. Belton House near Grantham may be one of Britain's finest stately homes but during World War I, the grounds were home to thousands of men training for frontline duties. It was where the Machine Gun Corps was created and its troops were trained.
Brand new: The Aristocrats, directed by Bafta Award-winning film-maker Patrick Forbes, explores modern-day high society through historically prominent families. With unique access to names of note and notoriety, The Aristocrats opens a window onto a so-called privileged world. Danny Boyle's science fiction epic is set 50 years in the future. The sun is dying, Earth suffers a perpetual winter and humanity's only hope is a spaceship that will deliver an atomic device into the heart of the Sun to 'kickstart' it again. Icarus II is captained by Kaneda, with Capa, a physicist, and Corazon in charge of the ship's environment. But as Icarus II approaches Mercury, it begins to receive signals from Icarus I, and when they board the supposedly lost craft, they encounter an entity that endangers the whole mission. Sunshine is written by Alex Garland, who also collaborated with Boyle on 28 Days Later.
