Summary of Life of Crime
Three-part drama series about a policewoman who battles against sexism and prejudice to forge a career in an ever-changing force. It is now 1997 and Denise Woods is a successful DI in the era of cool Britannia and Blair's babes. Ideally placed to rise higher through the ranks, she struggles to find time for her husband Ray and their daughter. Then her world is turned upside down when forensic evidence from a new case is cross-checked on the DNA database and matches samples of Amy Reid's from 1985. Mike Holland's legal team push to have his original conviction rendered unsafe and he is released after 12 years in jail. A court case results in Denise being demoted to Detective Sergeant, and then Ray asks for a separation. Forced to move out of the family home, she faces the prospect of having to start all over again.
